Stanley Scott attended Williamstown High School, taught school in GC for three years before going to university, and in 1911, while a student at Queen’s University, was chosen Rhodes Scholar for Alberta or the western provinces. After studying theology at Oxford University for three years, Scott returned to Queen’s for his B.A., 1915. Eventually, he also had the degrees B.D., Chicago, and Ph.D., Hartford, with an honorary D.D. from the University of Alberta in 1984. He wrote Making God Vital (Macmillan, 1923). He died in Edmonton having reached the age of 100. He was married three times, to (1) Una Leolin Works (four children), (2) his first cousin Katherine Hamilton Scott, who had a distinguished career as a nurse in Canada and in Britain in World War II, (3) Gabriele Adele Seliger.
